66Getting an appointment letter for a job following a successful interview is not a guarantee that the job cannot be withdrawn. One can lose a job after a year, a month even after a week. When hiring manger offers one a job, he or she has different expectations from an employee ranging from behavioral, social perspectives besides meeting the real expectations of that particular job. This article thus gives an insight into both behavioral and performance elements that can lead to the loss of the job.
Continuous lie about sickness
An employer can not contain an employee who continuously lies that he or she is sick. The discovery of one or two lies may be forgiven. However repeating the same for the third time or more may not be contained, it will be worse when the excuses are made on Mondays or Fridays .You will lose the job.
Failure to listen to your boss or instructor
This is an outright way that you can not do what is expected from you. Any direction given by the boss or instructor is meant to guide you carryout what is expected from you. No boss is happy about working with an employer who can not listen. This usually leads to firing to get one who can listen.
Failure to meet deadlines
Unless under unavoidable circumstances, No employer can do away with an employee who meets his or her tasks or even performs more. However failure to meet deadlines and the tasks given on a continuous basis leads to lose of a job.
Mixing personal frustrations with work
Though it is normal to have problems at home with your family or a parents, mixing such frustrations with work is uncalled for, mixing frustrations in ones work is usually reflected in handling customers or responses to bosses or instructors. This affects performance and can easily lead to firing if it is noticed on a continuous. It is better to keep personal problems away from work. If the problems at home are hard to contain even at the work place it is better to seek a counselor.
Backbiting other employees
This is a sign of insecurity about your performance and cannot be tolerated for long. It can also lead to the loss of your job. While carrying out your responsibilities it is better to mind your own business and leave your manager or boss take care of other employees who have made mistakes, defied orders or any other issue.
Despising your job
Interest and motivation plays a big role in ones performance. Any manifestation of disinterest in the job is a sign that you long to be else where, and cannot perform to your boss’s expectations.
Your fellow employees will tell the boss if you are ever complaining about the job and how you are tired of it. This can be worsened if you are caught photocopying a CV or tying another application letter at your desk.
Misuse of social media
If your sexually explicit materials or abusive terms are discovered on you face book page or any public media, you can lose you job. No decent company will work with an employee who is indecent on public media.
